We begin our tour of Munich on one of the most famous places in the city, the Olympic site. In order to first gain an overview of the Bavarian capital, we recommend a visit to the Olympic Tower. At an altitude of 182 meters is a famous and popular viewing platform from which you can enjoy - at least in good weather - a breathtaking view over the city. Sometimes the visibility reaches up to the first foothills of the Alps.
If you feel hungry now, you can go for a reinforcement in the prestigious Restaurant of the Olympic Tower. The special feature here is that the entire restaurant rotates, so you can enjoy in an hour, a 360-degree view of the Bavarian metropolis and you will not miss a single detail of the fascinating panorama.
After this first facinating impressions possibly followed by a meal recommend a walk through the Olympic Park. In the east of the site is the large Olympia shopping center where you can shop and stroll to your heart's content. Those who prefer sports activities, also have the opportunity for this at the Olympic site. The Olympic ice stadium offers ice skating all year long, at the connected outdoor area one has in summer the opportunity to go inline skates extensively.
In the afternoon we recommend a visit to the Bavaria Film Studios, located in the south of the Bavarian metropolis. Here especially the young visitors will enjoy themselves and can see for example the characters from "The Neverending Story", the original film-submarine out of Wolfgang Petersen's epic "Das Boot" or various demonstrations and stunt shows.
By the way a visit to the studios is even on rainy days worth a visit, because most of the attractions are under roofs or in warehouses. Alternatively, you can visit in bad weather, one of the famous indoor swimming pools in Munich, for example, the Cosimabad, which is a lot of fun for young and old with its huge shafting, or the Westbad - a bathing area with a 60 meter long slide, in particular children will enjoy that.
