The Potato Museum in Munich is one of the three Potato Museums in Germany and deals with the art historic aspect of a potato. It was opened in 1996 by the Otto-Eckert foundation. Otto Eckart was the owner of the Pfanni-Company - until it was sold to Unilever - and son of the company founder Werner Eckart.
The museum's foundation is a extensive collection of art (oil paintings, aquarelle, drawings, lithographies printings, verre églisomé´and modern graphic).
The museum also includes a specific library for scientific research.
2006 the museum was expanded with another exhibition, which deals with the histiory of the Pfanni-Company.
Without an advanced notification the museum can only be visited fridays and saturdays.
The entry is free, but tours are fee-based.
